DIY : Tuxedo Blazer

Photo cred: Harper's Bazaar

Hi Everyone!
The black and white structured trend is very popular now and will transcend into fall, and pretty much everybody has a blazer so why not update a basic blazer to something on trend with this simple DIY?

(As seen in today's Flair Magazine, Jamaica Gleaner).

 Shopping Details:

SUPPLIES
-Blazer
-1/4 yd bridal satin fabric
-iron on fusible tape
-brass or gold button
-scissors
-needle and thread
-pins
-iron

STEPS

1. Cut out satin fabric to cover lapels

2. Pin fabric to cover lapels

3. Iron on to get a smooth finish

4. Cut out fusible tape then use the iron to fuse the fabrics together;
*note * when pressing use a piece of scrap fabric between the iron and satin as a buffer to prevent scorching.

NOTE: The fusible tape gives the desired structured look and the brass button completes the classic look. If you're not brave enough to attempt this DIY, support small businesses and enlist the help of a neighborhood seamstress or tailor.
