Icy Blue

Hey Everyone!

Happy Monday! What a beautiful day it is today in cool cool Mandeville! I love it when it's cool, I get to layer up and have fun with scarves.

This past Friday I had the opportunity to present in Althea Laing's two-day  Teen Empowerment Workshop for girls. Ms. Laing is Jamaica's first supermodel who hails from Mandeville and so beautifully graced the cover of Sunday's Outlook Magazine in the Jamaica Sunday Gleaner (read the article here).

It was quite a delight to see such bright young ladies and the thought that I left a tiny mark on their future was at first daunting but then very humbling and heartwarming, when I started speaking I couldn't shut up. We covered some fundamentals of wardrobing beginning with identifying the different body types and understanding some tricks of the trade of how to camouflage flaws and highlight assets. If you are interested in the next workshop please contact Ms. Laing on her personal facebook page.

This is what I wore, an icy blue skater dress from Tuscany Boutique. I removed the belt loops and swapped out the matching belt for a metal plate belt in chocolate brown, then attempted tone on tone pastels with the turquoise blue statement necklace which kept the colour palette clean and crisp. I toughened up the look with my reliable leopard pumps and brought everything together with the structured leather clutch in that beautiful caramel brown.

Thanks for reading everyone! Hope your week is a productive and joyful one.
