Golden Globes Fashion

What a great show it was last night, didn't seem like a three hour show at all, I guess that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting it had something to do with it; if you ask me they needed more of that dynamic duo. A few trends that stood out on the red carpet were bold reds, delicate nudes, cut-out dresses and dramatic blacks. (These are all Google sourced images).

Naomi Watts in Zac Posen

Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood

Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen

Julianne Moore in custom Tom Ford

Katherine McPhee in Theysken's Theory

Julianna Margulies in Pucci

Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan

Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein

Halle Berry in Versace
Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad

Julianne Hough in Monique Llluhlier

Amy Adams in Reem Acra

Lucy Lui in Carolina Herrera

Sienna Miller in British Designer Erdem

Wow! All beautiful dresses, but if I had to pick my favourite it would be Kerry Washington's, Miu Miu dress with the shortened hemline featuring an embellished sheer number fitting perfectly in the 'boudoir' trend. The colour was perfect with her complexion and the look was styled perfectly with straight hair and bangs and her pointy toe nude shoes.

My second favourote was Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen, I just wish her hair was up instead of down. She wore that dress and seemed so confident and happy, very refreshing on the red carpet.

My least favourite dresses were by Sienna Miller by British designer Erdem, and Lucy Lui's floral gown by Carolina Herrera, that gown was way too big for her small frame. I was not a big fan of Halle Berry's dress, but let's be honest she would look good in a paper bag. Right?!

My favourite line of the night was after Bill Clinton presented the nomination for Lincoln, after he left the stage Amy Poehler said : Wow! that's Hilary Clinton's husband!. Loved that.

Best acceptance speech went to Jessica Chastain, she seemed sincere and was ever so eloquent.

The most awkward 'coming out/non-coming-out' speech went to Jodie Foster. For someone who supposedly reveres her privacy she took one of the most popular awards show, specifically a night she was being honoured to lash out to the industry and public. I found it very distasteful and awkward.

So who was your favourite dress of the night? Please drop a line and share.... and please remember to vote for me for the Jamaica Blog Awards today by clicking here.

Thanks everyone!
