This post is the first in my 'How To' series, it shows my interpretation of styling white jeans for fall, I must say that this has been one of the most challenging posts ever as it turns out white jeans are my styling nemesis.
- Firstly, the white jeans featured are not really jeans but 'jeggings' a hybrid of jeans and leggins, I opted for jeggings because they are somehow more slimming because the fabric hugs your skin like a glove.
- To update white jeans for fall I suggest wearing light sweaters, scarves, blazers, knitted beenies, boots and wearing tops with fabrics with added textures such as tweeds and knits.
- If, like me, you're concerned about drawing too much attention to your hips, I suggest wearing a longer top to take attention away from any problem areas.
- I tried on a few other tops out of my closet that could have worked, I found that a tight mini dress worn over white jeans also worked well, except most of my dresses were black and the contrast was too stark. Here are some different looks, nothing was bought for this shoot except for the jeggings, which I bought at Shimmer Kingston for a very low price; everything else were things I've had in my closet for months even years.

4th Look: When all else fails, wear a hat! ...Geometric Shirt Dress worn as top with a wool hat
Shirt Dress:Bag: BedoShoes: AldoHat: HeaslipRing: Calvin KleinLipstick: Morange MACIn conclusion, I must say that my favourite look of all was the look that I felt most comfortable in, the geometric dress worn as a top. I felt that the white jeans brought too much attention to my hips and in the end the printed top minimized my hips like a photoshopping tool! lolThe lesson behind this post, is, not because something is in means you have to wear it, as not every trend fits every body type; and if you're not comfortable in something you won't look good in it. Comfort is key.My room was a huge mess after pulling EVERY SINGLE piece of clothing out of my closet, and it was just sheer joy when I found something that worked that I wore it to the premiere of 'Flight' by Denzel Washington- which was an amazing movie I might add! You guys should go see it this weekend and let me know what you think.Which look was your favourite? Please post a comment if you're willing to try this trend :)
Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend everyone!
